We did warm up exercises to get things going. We did a physical warm up 8-1 shakedown. We played a few mental warm up games as well. Zip-Zap-Zop which is a pattern game. We then played Word Association, where the participator must associate a word that is given to them with whatever comes to mind. This game assists the actor in getting out of their heads and trusting themselves with their first choice. We then played a game called Imaginary Ball Toss, and the name baiscally explains itself. We pass around imaginary colored balls. We first start with one color ball. The person throwing the ball must say “this is a green ball” then the person receiving the ball must catch the imaginary colored ball and say “thank you, green ball” and now must pass the ball to another person keeping the same color and saying the same sentence that was told to them before receivng the ball “this is a green ball” and then another person catches it and receives it by saying “thank you green ball”, and this patteren continues until it gets a bit more interesting when more colored balls are tossed into the mix. The goal of the participators is making sure that we keep control of all the colored balls that are being tossed around.

We then moved to our games of the night. We played 3-line scene where actors get an understanding of the platform of the scene (who you are, what you want, and where you are where) It is the goal of the actor within short scene for them to work to get the who, what and where in three lines. We then played New Choice, where the actors have to come up with a new choice within the scene when new choice is called out by the instructor. It is the goal of the actor to try to make the new choice they say work with the scene. We then played a character game called Laronde which means ‘in the round” or “Circle”. Laronde is a game where the actors must keep the same character through out the game. To better describe this game lets say that there are 4 actors and these four actors are now letters and the structure of the game is AB-BC-CD-DA. Character A and Character B has a scene and then Character A must leave and start a new scene with Character B and Character C. Then Character C does a new scene with Character D then finally the form ends when the circle closes and the last and first characters do a scene. The actors change scenes by yelling freeze and taking the place of the character thats and starting a completely new scene.
