We had a dynamite time at ActorsInC commercial night. We had commercial copy auditions from a variety of brands like 1-877-kids-now, Valley View Automotive, Johnston Investment Advisers Va-Voom Shampoo, Children’s Advil, and TJMaxx. There is no end to how creative and different our ActorsInC actors can be. Each actor was selected to read a specific commercial script, memorize and mock audition for the spot. We do playback were everyone gets to see each others audition on big screen. Then we have have some fun giving notes and adjustments to our actors and see what fun aspects they bring to their second mock auditions. Great lessons learned in that with commercial’s sometimes the strongest audition you can have is when you are yourself! Nice work actors! GO out there and tackle the creative world today. Send out a headshot, crash an audition and hop back in! It’s Spring and it is your time! It is GAME TIME!

Film /TV – we had a great class with scripts from Army Wives, Royal Pains among a few others as well as scripted character development improv made up of senarious give to 2 actors with the same basic script. We changed their relationship to each other and their location and had them do it each time very drastically. a great night at ActorsInC work out gym!
I would like to suggest “Roaring Lambs” it is about Christians in the entertainment industry making their mark fiercely but with hearts of Lambs. Dynamite encouragement!
Financial Workshop – Tax Season is Upon Us! 03.18.13

What does financial independence look like to you? Being debt free provides a type of financial freedom that many dream of. Maybe you have no debt, but desire to be more financially savvy and organized when it comes to keeping track of your expenses and living beyond paycheck to paycheck. Attendees of the recent financial literacy workshop titled, “Financially Fit Followers” left with the tips, resources, and reassurance needed to make financial freedom a reality. How to develop a budget using the 10-10-30-50 rule, what expenses can be written off at tax time, how to calculate self-employment income and why it matters, ideas for turning your passion into profit along with inspiring Biblical money scriptures were topics of discussion during the workshop led by Actors In Christ Leader and Financial Empowerment Coach, Stacey Mundele. While most cringe when hearing the words “personal finance”, our actors are ahead of the game and one step closer to becoming financially fit followers in Christ.
Do you have any questions about finance for actors? Please let us know.

We did warm up exercises to get things going. We did a physical warm up 8-1 shakedown. We played a few mental warm up games as well. Zip-Zap-Zop which is a pattern game. We then played Word Association, where the participator must associate a word that is given to them with whatever comes to mind. This game assists the actor in getting out of their heads and trusting themselves with their first choice. We then played a game called Imaginary Ball Toss, and the name baiscally explains itself. We pass around imaginary colored balls. We first start with one color ball. The person throwing the ball must say “this is a green ball” then the person receiving the ball must catch the imaginary colored ball and say “thank you, green ball” and now must pass the ball to another person keeping the same color and saying the same sentence that was told to them before receivng the ball “this is a green ball” and then another person catches it and receives it by saying “thank you green ball”, and this patteren continues until it gets a bit more interesting when more colored balls are tossed into the mix. The goal of the participators is making sure that we keep control of all the colored balls that are being tossed around.
We then moved to our games of the night. We played 3-line scene where actors get an understanding of the platform of the scene (who you are, what you want, and where you are where) It is the goal of the actor within short scene for them to work to get the who, what and where in three lines. We then played New Choice, where the actors have to come up with a new choice within the scene when new choice is called out by the instructor. It is the goal of the actor to try to make the new choice they say work with the scene. We then played a character game called Laronde which means ‘in the round” or “Circle”. Laronde is a game where the actors must keep the same character through out the game. To better describe this game lets say that there are 4 actors and these four actors are now letters and the structure of the game is AB-BC-CD-DA. Character A and Character B has a scene and then Character A must leave and start a new scene with Character B and Character C. Then Character C does a new scene with Character D then finally the form ends when the circle closes and the last and first characters do a scene. The actors change scenes by yelling freeze and taking the place of the character thats and starting a completely new scene.

- “Comet”
- “Sugar Free Bubble Yum Bubble Gum”
- “Drakes Cakes”
- “Band-Aid Clear Tape”

Pilot Season Bootcamp Part 1 & 2 02.04.13 & 02.11.13
Written by Danielle Campbell
We had our classes for pilot season this during the first and second weeks of February, taught by guest teacher Kristin Stennis (Verizon Campaign, Lion King) and Daniele Campbell. This 3 hour intensive focused on the break down of the pilot season in New York City, how to prepare for it, how to get an audition, and what to do when you get that script in your hand and have to develop a character!
We supplied attendees with scripts from last season’s pilots for “The Mindy Project”, “Sullivan & Sons”, “Ben & Kate”, and drama favorite “Without A Trace.” We casted, conducted a mock audition with attendees memorizing their sides, played back their auditions and gave adjustments where needed.
Voiceover Workshop 01.21.13
The Voiceover Workshop taught by guest teacher Daria Hardemen was an overwhelming success. So much so that the participants waited up to an hour and a half after the workshop ended to ask career questions!
The class was taught audition style with callbacks and a booking, thus providing the students with a real win or lose audition experience.
The class was divided into seven different groups based on the seven scripts available and seven individual winners chosen, one per group. One of the best things the students were given was the opportunity to listen to everyone’s audition and cast their votes for callbacks and winners. After listening to their fellow workshop member’s auditions, everyone understood how difficult it was to choose between so many gifted and evenly matched talent. Ultimately I believe everyone left a better actor than they came in and more prepared to book voiceover jobs.
